So far we have been in Fiji for three days. We arrived in Fiji struck with intense humidity. It’s not that hot but the humidity is ridiculous. We had about an hour drive to where we are staying, Momi Bay. Our ride was fun. We were in the back of a covered truck all squished with our luggage. But it was a fun ride. Yesterday we woke up and had breakfast at 8. It was basically a chill day to rest and get ready for the next few days. Then later last night after an amazing dinner of roti (tacos) and banana bread a few of us told our stories about how we became who we are today. Then, after that the group gave each of us encouraging words about our stories.
Today the group planted trees to help make the area we are around be self-sustaining. And the kindergarten class met this morning so some people helped with that. Becca and I helped in the kitchen getting lunch ready.
Our time in Fiji has been relaxed so far. The only issue is the humidity. And a few people are suffering from mosquito bites.
